What do you folks recommend for weapons on the Patcom? I'm currently using both turret fighters, quad-light PBC (light hardpoint on command section), Quad-pack launcher (medium hard point), and 2 pulse accelerated PBCs (heavy hardpoints), dock-on turret, and point defense turret. I'm in act two, been doing a bunch of piracy, some of the missions that don't involve gathering pilots from the Oman, Third Way, or Sherrif (I played about 1/2 through when I first got game, and remember the Oman tests in praticular as being rather perturbing, so I'm saving those for awhile). Oh, and I didn't save the Ambassador's assistant, so no self defence program yet.
I like having the t-fighters along; so short of reemoving t-fighters, how would you improve this loadout?
Thanks,
Poob

well other than leaving the t-fighters at base:D, i'd use neutron pbc's over the pulse acc. pbc, neutron pbcs do over 100 dmg more than a pulse pbc and have a higher penetration too, as well as a barely noticeable faster fire rate and better range. on the downside they are hotter than pulse pbcs. i never used t-fighters much because you lose 4 hardpoints with both t-fighters mounted, you lose the pylon cannon mount AND the missile only hardpoint on top of the pylon cannon, which was enough for me not to use 'em. my fav loadout for the patcom is 4 regular pbcs, or 3 rapid fire pbcs, with a comms laser that i modded for better range(like 15km:)) and damage. i use disruptors alot too when pirating, knockout 1-2 of the guards and its cake after that

"Quantity has a quality all its own."

I use 3 Quad-Lights for a total of 12(!) guns, enough to batter down the shields of large and small ships alike so quickly freighters won't have time to surrender (watch their hull indicator; when it falls below 50%, take evasive maneuvers, assuming first that the escorts will be after you and second that the freighter will drop its cargo just after the captain finishes the "I'm not afraid of you!" speech.)
That leaves room for a gat, which works just like the quads only at twice the range and with limited ammo, and Lori and Az, who each get PulseAccs for lesser challenges and gats for the really nasty missions.
On defense missions I leave the gat at home, fitting instead the biggest launcher I have, loaded entirely with disruptors.
Having Lori and Az out flying around is particularly good for me since I seem to be the primary target of any opposition. Even if I'm totally pinned down the girls will be working the bad guys over.

I am using 4 Gatlings on the Patcom right now, obviously I have to watch the ammo, but I haven't run out at an awkward moment yet.
