That'll be sweet. Quad, Quads as it were. I'm working on a trade for a Mining Laser but having a hell of a time finding Reactor Fuel, Bulk, Chemicals or Laser Detectors. I've been haunting Touchdown to no avail...

Here's something else you may find entertaining. For some reason, it came to mind while I was stuck in traffic
Ever equipped your ship with a mining charge? >rofl< Mining charges are just like remote missiles, except that they don't hit for quite as much. Instead of the hit and run tactic I mentioned above, try this next one. It's a little more time consuming and will most likely result in a battle whether you want it or not.
*also note mining charges dont have great speed or range. can't remember atm though.. maybe 5km and 250m/s?
-find an ideally stationary target. transports waiting in queue at stations and lpoints make good victims
-park your ship nearby and launch the charge
-if you want to just knock off cargo and run, aim for the transports engines. be careful you don't destroy any pods! This is less of a concern against mega freighters
-if you want to take out escorts, try and group them as much as possible. I belive the charge has a remote/contact fuse so you have good control over your 'mining'.
-the charge explodes in a radius, and does very nice damage. depending on your plan, you are now ready to flee/destroy remaining escorts. Keep in mind that any damaged ships will most likely chase you much further than usual!

These are amazing tactics, Pippu's tactic I've used often to "boom'n'zoom" unsuspecting civilians.
If, however, you've had a hard day at work and it's one of those days, might I recommend my tactic, of the more aggressive sort. This takes an amazingly well outfitted ship, ( I fly an Advanced Patcom, Neutron and AM PBCs, Deadeye missiles) split-second reactions and nerves of steel - check it out...
Begin by thinking along the Z Axis, never forget the classic line in Star Trek II that comments on "Two dimensional thinking" and hover "above" your target at...oh..3500 units. If your target has escorts target these first, gun your override (W) and floor it, full speed DIRECTLY for your target fire missile salvos (if you have salvo mode) at both escorts, firing one shot of AntiMatter PBC at the target, if this does not instantly destroy the target it will be severely damaged, at this point you're probably T-3 Seconds from impact or so, hold down the ALT key and ram the stick HARD foward (or back) and move along your Y axis to evade collision. Rotate 180 degrees and strafe with A or D hard, allowing primary engines to slow you down, utilizing your RCS systems to circumnavigate any remaining escorts firing pot-shots off at them as they fire. Simultaneously try to rotate along the X axis while firing Y-axis RCS thrusters in either direction to shake their missiles. Rinse and repeat until all hostile combat ships are bugging out or down for the count, when you are at last bogey dope, tag your pods and wait for Jafs. The whole process takes about 30 seconds and when you're done should leave you with the feeling of standing on your chair shouting out
"WHO THE BIAAAATCH NOW? THAT'S RIGHT, R-E-S-P-E-C-T MOTHA' TRUCKER!"
and then calmly collecting a good day's pay.
Aggressive Tactics = Good Things.
Good Hunting, Pilots.
