All I can offer is some basic advice;
Take your turret fighters. Before you attack the Marauders, undock the t-fighters, and tell them to destroy the freighter.
Fire some missiles at the marauder ships as you move in. Don't circle around them, go in with guns blazing. Select one and do your best to finish him off. Dodge and weave to stay alive until the turret fighters finish with the freighter and can help you out.
Once they have killed the freighter, tell them to attack your target. With you and two fighters against it, it won't last long. Then select the next one, and so on.
Missiles will soften up your targets. Don't forget the Parias Bootlegger tactic: When you pass your enemy, turn and tap the 'L' key twice... this activates your LDS drives for a moment (turning them on and off again) giving you a burst of speed. If done quickly, you can accelerate back towards your enemy before he has turned, and fire upon his rear (ships are unshielded at the rear).
When a gun runs out of energy, switch to another. By trading off this way, you can keep continous fire upon your target.
If all else fails, try some pratice in Instant Combat. And check out the tactics section of this site. i-war2.com/tactics.htm
No confusion; just wrong or right ... Only Solutions

Don't forget nullifying your inertia. Momentum can be your enemy in this game.giving you a burst of speed.
