It's hard to tell what to put in. The settings for max LDS speed on a LDS Drive Class 2 are "6e10" (which means exactly what I wonder...six times energy to the tenth power?) and when I found, through trial and error, a setting I felt was acceptable, I still had no way of determining how fast I was going. I can't time the flight to, say, Blackeye L-point and figure with the distance, because the LDS Drive slows down as you near the target coordinates. I'm assuming the 'e' in the above formula stands for some astrophysics measurement, and is not a simple variable used by the programers. Perhaps someone on the forum more knowledgeable than I could tell us.

There is a pretty good chance that i'm in the wrong here, but here goes, as far as have it figured out(wich is not a lot)the 10 in 6e10 would be the ammount of say, zero's after the number 6.
so if you were to write it down it would look like this:
60.000.000.000, but i'm having some serius second thoughts about this so I don't think you should take this at, how do you say, face value?
If i'm wrong could someone tell me please, cause i'd like to know.

Humm...we need to figure this out. Were is our Partical Systems expert when you need him...er...i cant remember his name lol. Oh ya Stephen Robertson, thats right...

Now if you ppl can invision this (cuz i know there are some ppl out there that think im crazy for wanting to turn the speed down)...
When a ship makes a jump to LDS to go on its merry way, its gonna take a while. This means that you cant go to nearly as many places, in an alotted time, as before. Ok thats the sucky part. Now start using your head a bit. Imagine ariving at Hoffers Gap after a long quiet journey from your base in the Effrit (or maybe with crew sounds? I know there is a mod out there that does that). You arrive with the standard greating and proceed towards the large city. Perhaps you find a nice juicy target for pirating that is just leaving the city and almost out if the inhibit field. You can follow it. The long travel it will have to make gives you plenty of time to counder up how you are going to take out its 6 escorts before they kill you...

OK so maybe im a little crazy, but i just like taking my time getting places. You could do your homework or play some music on your journey...or whatever...

Anyway can you ppl beleave how big the fusion missle post got in the last 8 hours? :D

This post seems to be on it's way to overkill itself. What did it originally start out as?

Slipstream and I are not the only ones who think the LDS speed is too high...there's a remark statement, left by the programmers, in each of the LDS Engine files which states "LDS speeds are over 100 times too high without the implementation of time dialation. Generally frigged."

I checked several physics and astrophysics sites on the web last night but couldn't find anything about the 'e' variable. Will continue looking though...
