What Next?

Just completed the "Battle of Mwari" and received the e-mail from Hoffer talking about the future of the sector. I have made a few pirating runs but no new missions have shown up. Any suggestions?

Found the marauder base yet?

I have completed the mission where the ramming ship has to be protected until it releases the proximity bombs which destroy the marauder base. However, I don't believe I completed the covert mission where the comsat is launched, given coordinates and flown into marauder space.

Do you have the objectives yet for 'find marauder base'? You have to find its top-secret location before you can do that covert comsec mission. If you do have the objective, try following some marauders around. If you don't have that objective, I don't remember enough about this part of the game to help you.
