Another little polish for the HUD

How much modding of the HUD can be done with simply changing the .iff files? I know that the retical can be changed, although the centre object is hardcoded, the 'green lines' can be altered.

Now, what i would dearly love to do is to modify that file so that it has graffics that atleast roughly resemble the IW1 style targeting.

Now, i can edit the Gif, but i do not have any idea what the details are for the HUD of the old IW1 games are. Does anyone have some screenshots or images which have clearly labeled what each 'hud' i did/ment?
