Is this NORMAL?

I just got this highly acclaimed game and install it on my W2K laptop, Mobility Radeon 64MB, 256MB RAM. The game play is very smooth and have no glitches except that...

There are no rendering of ships while in-flight; and the hangar appears to be missing some graphics! I have attached several screenshots - can someone please tell me if this is normal at all?

Good grief, how bizarre! That's definitely not normal. But I've never had any trouble with the game myself, so I can't advise you as to what's wrong. But I'm sure someone will shortly. (btw - it's not Win2K, that's what I use)

I've never even heard of a problem like this before though.

two suggestions:

try 1024x768 resolution - your's seem to be much higher.

copy an original flux.ini from cd into your main directory - rename your flux.ini first.

There is no safe distance

I've got it: when I changed my resolution down to 1024x768x16 the ships rendering comes back on. I tried 1024x768x32 (and in fact all other 32 bits) - same issue. It appears to be my graphics card memory.
