You know, the person with the ATi X1300 and VISTA was having the same problem. Perhaps it's the driver for this card and not anything else. Now I'm going to try EoC on MY Vista box, which has a 6600 PCI-E in it (not a gamer box, but then again neither is my dual core amd laptop with a geforce go 6100)

Sorry for bumping an old topic but...
I run Vista on one machine and WinXP Prof on another, and with the same Video Card, and the same drivers... There is no Diff at all.
I do have a ATI 128meg ATI Raedon 9550 (I guess the X1050) running on boteh, but still no problems really on both machines.
ONly thing I can reccomend since this is an Old topic... is to update to a newer version of the drivers/catalyst Since the newset catalyst is 7.9... that can solve alot of problems.
If anyone cares anymore that is.

Sorry to bump an old topic....but i dont know much about graphics drivers and stuff (young whippersnappers!!!, nah jk). I have Windows Vista and my graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6600. I tried a rollback like u guys said by going into device manager, clicking properties for the display driver and clicking on the 'roll back driver' button. But when i try to play the game, i still get the same message as darthbob got.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this? And if i have to get different drivers or something could u please give me a link to a place where i can get it.

Heres what it says in the flux.ini file
(there was another file called flux_2008-04-09_20-54-11.ini, but it had the same stuff in it)
[FcGame]
graphics_device = dx7graph.fcGraphicsDeviceD3D
sound_device = dx7sound.fcSoundDeviceDA
network_device = dx8net.fcNetworkDeviceDP8
input_device = dxinput.fcInputDeviceDI
cdaudio_device =
movie_device = binkmovie.fcMovieDeviceBink
cd_key =
disable_sound = 0
full_screen = 1
width = 800
height = 600
bit_depth = 32
video_driver =
Ive noticed theres nothing in the video driver field, im guessing this cant be good.
It also says this in the flux.log file
