Hi all,
Just decided to try this game again after a 20 year hiatus. I have the steam version, windows 10, nvidia gpu.

I have a 1440p display, and realised that 1080p is the max resolution selectable in the menu without major windows fiddling. I can live with this, but found in fullscreen even at 1080p the fps is bad, around 30fps.
I found in the faq the suggestions on this page:
web.archive.org/web/20150427004601/http:...c=99477&post=1202630

I tried the dll fix but it stopped the game starting.
I'm a bit worried to try the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit fix as I'm not sure if it's even compatible with windows 10, and might screw something up.

The windowed mode works very well and is very smooth, but at 1080p in a 1440p desktop the borders are very distracting.
I tried a couple of suggested fixes to get the windowed mode to be borderless fullscreen, including fullscreenizer. Unfortunately it doesn't do anything with Iwar2. It does work on other windows though.
I tried a fix using autohotkey, but it doesn't work on the iwar window.

Is there any hack where i can get my 1080p window to be borderless and full screen, on windows 10 that still works? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Miller

Ok, after some further experimenting, I found any of the 'fullscreenizer' type apps would cause the game to crash whenever they try to expand the size of the windows above 1920x1080.
I found one called 'borderless gaming' which does a similar thing, but does have the option to keep the window the same size, while removing the borders. However this leaves the issue of having a thick border of my desktop background as i'm on a 1440p screen.
So if I change the resolution of my desktop to 1080p first, with scaling set to fill the whole screen, then run iwar2, and use borderless gaming to hide the border, I do have full screen, with smooth fps, and no border! A bit of a fiddle but it works. I do remember I had an app somewhere that can basically run a macro to change the desktop resolution and then run a game, then reset the desktop resolution after quitting, so I could use that. However I'm up and running for now!

Interesting - full screen mode seems to work fine on a radeon 6800 with no fiddling at all. Seems the red team is the way to play I-war!
