I was going to play TS because I-War 2 is so buggy that it's virtually unplayable, but I found myself floating in a tiny pod and had zero idea what to do, so I uninstalled it and went back to I-War 2 proper.

Yeah it's kind of like grabbing a 6 week old baby and yeeting them into the ocean with the words "meet you in hawaii."
If I recall correctly you have to fly that little ship to a station where you can purchase a properly sized vessel
