Delayed SFoil animation on the X-Wing
Although the F3 solution has it's advantages, I tend to lean towards no external view at all when the SFoils are activated.

I guess that would solve the problem. I don't have an opinion yet (*stunned silence from the crowd [:0]*), I'll have to think about it.

What are you talking about? Did you ever use F2 ? F4 ? F11 ?
All those keys offer outside views of the players ship and/or target.
Why mention about F3?
Or am I wrong? I tried it 2 minutes ago in a MP game via loopback.

I thought MajorTom meant he wanted to take away the functionality of all the external F keys, effectively removing the players ability to switch to an outside view. This would absolutely prevent him from ever seeing the animation of his own ship.

Lol no, I didn't want to turn off all cameras. I meant no forced view of any kind during the actuation. i.e like in the assualt game as shown below:Originally posted by MajorTom

Tarcoon, the different maps offer different ways to actuate.
you may have overseen this:
2. The X-Wing Animation
There are 3 different versions for you to try out:
a) In the Assault game: the wings are activated without an external view by pressing the key "K".
b) in the Rebels vs. Bots game: you get an external view as the wings are activated by pressing the key "K". the cutscene will stop your ship.
c) The Cargo Hunt game: Press F3 to actuate the wings. Your ship won't stop, but you'll have to press F1 to get back to normal view.
(same applies for the Search and Destroy game as they use the same script)
