I-War 2 won't run on Vista.

This is an even later response, but I rediscovered EoC today after years of neglect, and encountered the "Vista encountered a problem" problem with my NVidia graphics card, and studiously followed the sugestions in this topic. The only way I could get it to run on my main machine running Vista Ultimate was to alter the "flux.ini" file as described previously with one addition I had to alter the "bit_depth = " entry to 16 instead of the usual 32. After that it worked fine.

Annoyingly on my Laptop, using intel built in graphics, it started running properly first time.

Thanx Grojan - I tried this but made no difference. I'm running Vista business with an nvidia Geforce 8600m. It looks like nvidia are the problem.

looks like my german version was causing problems and deleting the planets folder was helping.

Hi All;
I'm having the same problem with EOC and Geforce 8800GTX. Has anyone found a fix? None of these work for me.
edit: Got EOC to run after editing flux.ini and adding 1280 by 1024 32 bit to the appropriate lines, and "NVIDIA 8800 GTX" in the blank video driver line.

Now I have a great picture, but NO SOUND..another missing flux.ini entry? There is a blank line cdaudio device in the [fcGame] entry...but I would have no idea what to put there for XFi Extreme Gamer Pro...

I tried it and it does not work.
I am using Windows Vista. I cannot get Independence War 2 to run on my system.
When I try to run it I get the following message:

loader.exe has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have tried all the advise on this forum and nothing works any advise?[V]
