This version is obsolete please locate the thread with the newest version.
Please use this thread to report bugs you find in Unstable Space version 11.1 Thanks to everyone who takes the time to help us out. The sooner we get the basic features stable, the better for everyone.
We want to know about crashes immediatly. However, if you have not played the standard game since your last hardware upgrades or Windows updates, then please try the standard game without the mod (rename your unstable space mods folder to mods_us is all it takes to uninstall the mod). If you are seeing crashes in the standard game, it is a hardware or driver issues. If the crashes go away, it is probably a bug in USpace.
Writing a good bug report:
If the bug is not a crash, try to get it to happen twice before you report the bug. The moment you see the bug a second time, pause your game. Write down: The exact station name or lpoint. The system name. Which start did you use.
Then list the steps that you did to get the bug to happen the second time. It does not have to be super complex. Here is a good example:
"I was in LDS approaching station Emerald STC in Emerald, with my freighters in formation, when suddenly they vanished. I paused and saw they were 100,000km away. And the distance to the station was 250km. I had my wingmen vanish once before, but I was approaching Etcom Common metals in Alcuin."
Once you have written down the specifics, save your game. Make a new folder with the bug name "vanishing_wingmen". And put a copy of the save game and flux.log file into the folder. Then if we need them to find the issue, you can send them in.

Well just to start, here's my kit:
Award BIOS
generic socket478 mobo
Celeron 2.4 ghz (clocked to 2.<!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) -->
768m 333DDR RAM
FX5200 128m nVidia PCI
integrated sound (AC97)
WinXP Home (SP2)
all drivers current
I haven't found any real bugs yet, playing for a few hours on the "standard setup" New game option. I was having trouble with the throttle on my wingman stick, but I disabled it and it stopped.
No set speed for the tug. Newtonian flight model...thrusters either on or off.
Mouse flight's a little dodgy ( always has been in EoC though). Capsule flight seems to double mouse sensitivity, but a stable tunnel is doable with mouse control. Definite sound issues inside the tunnel on my kit. AC97 drivers are notoriously lousy, so it might be that.

How do you refuel wingman freighters you hire?
I flew to Alcuin/Azran shipyard, hired an SnRV freighter. It said it was outta fuel and immobile. Refuel tanker would refuel me, but not the wingman freighter. Did I miss something in the online docs?
[edit]
dunno, it might be a bug. Can't find anyway to get fuel into the freighter.
Refuel tanker says refueling, but fleet status says fuel 500 for me, fuel 0 for wingman.
Even the dev "refuel target" command didn't work. Wingman won't dock or formate or move at all. "I'm out of fuel and immobile."
Have save-game near Azran Shipyard.

It is a bug. The max fuel is getting set to zero somehow and that prevents the ship from taking fuel.
[Edit]Found it. Some of the hired ship types are not using the new Ship Creation routines I just wrote. Which means they don't get the max_fuel property attached correctly.
Darn, this means your stuck using the scenario setups for now.

It does not mean anything for TornStars. That is a left over message from the original EoC. It shows up when the game is in Debug Mode. For these test releases I put the game into Debug Mode automatically. Developer Mode collects data into the flux.log file that is useful for finding bugs and problems.
