I have one pod of gemstones at my base, I don't know where or how I got it, so I just need one more.

I came across some uncut gemstones today, unfortunately the ship carrying it was also escorted by advanced patcoms with Antimatter PBCs. Ouch. [8)]

There's more info at MajorTom's site: mjrtom.bei.t-online.de/index.html

I'll look into setting it up on my computer tomorrow, assuming it still requires some type of testing and if MajorTom gives the go-ahead.

Umm, Go ahead. :D
Though, I'm not sure what you need a go-ahead for?
The mod works fine and you can exchange any type of pod you have in your single player game inventory (and take the exchanged pods back to your SP inventory). It's been fully tested so you shouldn't have any problems with it

There are no scripts for any specific missions for Co-op type play, but you can certainly play your own selfmade co-op game by setting up your own trading post, trading goods with anyone who passes by and also protecting your trading post from any pirates that may join a game.
The game is "persistant" in that you can play without a time limit (just set the game time to an exorbiant number). As long as the server is online the cargo stays there and the owner of each piece of cargo is updated in real time as possesion changes.

I have to add that this online trading mod of Major Tom's is very good. There's just something about being able to meet another player in space, exchange cargo pods, then go back through the jumpgate and see it in your SP inventory. It is surprisingly cool! It has all the features you'd want for any other type of online mp game, with these added co-op and trade features. A cargo pod could theoretically be traded from player to player all the way around our planet (It was sort of tried but there were a few gaps...). I found it way more fun than zipping around trying to blast everyone else in the same region of space. Co-op play would be very enjoyable, and as soon as I get broadband to my rural area, I'm going to be looking for fellow players, too.

Thanks, MajorTom. Didn't know if you wanted to keep it a part of Epic's release or if it's already out as part of your own.

I'll fire it up this evening. :)

Please do use it.

We do plan to spiff it up a bit (more elaborate maps and an identical GUI interface) for release with Epic but for now it is fully playable.
I'm a happy 'lil bugger if more people play it. (also to see if anyone can find any bugs we may have overseen during beta testing).

I found a few bugs:

If I start a new game, quit all the way back to the main menu, and start another new game, activating the location finder locks up the system.

I fiddled with the .ini’s and got a freighter. Docking to a station made the freighter dock at a 90-degree angle. (i.e., the freighters’s front dock port was touching the station’s dock port, but not nose-to-nose.) The freighter would only dock at the cargo loading thingy on the station, and stations without a cargo loading thingy would not let me dock. BaseNet was unavailable even when docked (but just with the freighter; it all worked fine with the tug). Undocking made the hull collision sound. The Venice freighter took little/no damage, but undocking made the megafreighter explode.

All of the planets and moons are black. The suns are fine, though. In addition, the starfield has a big white thing in it that’s not a sun. Is it supposed to be a distant supernova or something? Or is that starfield a placeholder for something cooler?

No events or news shows up, even after hitting advance day a bunch.

Hacknet is available when not docked. In addition, it’s possible to get trapped in it if you don’t bring a disconnect with you.

In the map, if you zoom out all the way to the cluster, use the mouse to scroll the screen, then zoom in without the selected star in the center, the map does not pan over to the selected star; it just zooms in with the selected star appearing in the middle.

Isn’t it odd that some systems have 2 L-Points that connect to other systems but not to each other?

Epic is too cool for me to go back to the normal game again. Ramming chess ships in the megafreighter is too much fun.
