Pretty soon, we should change the names on the billboards at the station shown above.
The bar for example could be named "the Clone"? A casino named "Second Chance" wouldn't be bad at all. Then we have 4 more signs for 2 hotels, a landing platform/ramp and a Pub. Any name ideas?
I agree with the FUN concept fully. We should prioritize fun higher than "canon". I think it's better not to limit our creative possibilities at this stage. If we come up with some really cool features that we want because they are fun we can look for a viable explanation later.
An Ion Cannon that can disrupt other ships is not unknow to the Starwars universe (as opposed to EOC). It may not be strictly canon on a specific ship, but it's fun.
We really need to do some play testing to evaluate the flight properties and handling for the TIEs. I assume you have multiplayer experience with Star Wars games? If you would like to help please send me an email*. That would also give you a better insight as a basis for constructive critique.

If thats the case, we could consider 2 different loadouts and slightly different flight charachteristics for each of the 2 models. The idea is to give players the option to choose a ship that is more fitting to thier personal flight style. (and make it more 'class based' which is currently popular for MP games)Originally posted by Tempest
Also, live with bad game-balancing: only two imperial fighter models against four on the rebel side.
That is the reason for my above post about not argueing "Canon" now. It's true that LA invented some new rules for their games, but they did it to increase the fun.

Back to topic...
I'm willing to help on the project as much as I can, both with comments (so please let me know when they start to become more annoying than helpful ) as well as testing, if you want me to... just tell me what to do.

About the fun/canon issue, I agree. Fun needs to be the top priority. I'm just one of those [V]bad people[V] who would end up sitting in front of a technically accurate but very boring simulation (I guess it comes from criticizing the crappy flight simulators I trained on, the real ones not the game types;)). Which is why I should never be put in charge of planning the fun, just indulging in it.
I'll do my best to make things as accurate as I can, and you all tell me when it stops being fun. Then we should have a good balance.
btw - I like smilies. Can you tell?[}]
Oh, one more thing.

Sweeeet![8D] Interestingly enough the nickname "Second Chance" was something I picked up from back in my flying days, it came from a piece of WW II aircraft nose art I had. It was a pinup girl in a sort of kneeling, reclining position in front of two giant rolling dice (for any artists interested in the visual that goes with the name). I'd love to see that over a casino!A casino named "Second Chance" wouldn't be bad at all.

I think the canon discussion got a little off track. I only meant to say that as far as gathering information for the models and setups went I only like to use canon, not that we were making a canon only mod. Sorry for the confusion. Also, live with bad game-balancing: only two imperial fighter models against four on the rebel side.
